In moments of introspection, people pay attention to the fact that there are so many things that one would have wanted to learn as they were growing up. Experience is valuable, as hindsight is always much sharper and clearer than foresight, which youth can rarely provide. These are the things that I wish I had been told back as a young person if I were to meet my young self.

It’s okay to be different

In childhood, there is a tendency to conform and be like all the others. But it is your distinguishing characteristic that makes you unique. You would never reprimand your friend over his or her error, so you should not reprimand yourself either. You can prefer to forget about things that did not go as planned, and that is absolutely all right.

Stay true to who you are because it’s what will help you define what makes you unique and help you search for those who will love it.

Don’t be afraid of failure

It’s not defeating — it’s a process. When you fail, you don’t fail for the rest of your life; you grow. Each of the mistakes definitely has a lesson, and these lessons contribute to making you better. The only thing that you should avoid or run away from is failure, and guess what? The more you…
