Resentment is an intricate subject and often roots itself inside our minds as an emotion. We witness this as feelings of anger and displeasure emerge from experiencing constant wrongs and injustices. It is the opposite of frequent anger and irritation, which typically last for a short period of time. Resentment diminishes over time, significantly impacting a person’s mental and emotional well-being.

A cycle of anger

Sometimes, when we encounter individuals who repeatedly push us into difficult situations, we are compelled to feel angry to the point where it becomes a pattern. We become accustomed to being in a situation that we do not accept but are forced into. Even if anger is not our natural response, we become angry because that is the expectation of others. Ultimately, they control us, and we allow them to do so.
