“Knowing the Unknown”
Are we cautious while interacting with unknown who appear to be gentleman?
“When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” — Maya Angelou
In a society where everyone seems to know each other or where certain people have long acquaintances, the appearance of a stranger causes some reaction that is a blend of fascination and fear.
This figure, generally wearing a disguise, moves in the society with actual accounts and histories unheard and unseen by others. Whether they are anonymous within a large public arena or brand new to a local neighborhood, they are mysterious.
But it does so at the cost of the very foundation of trust and motive, and it trials our inherent human drive to reach out. The stranger represents further relationships and chances, but also embodies a part of the uncertainty in people’s interactions.
This stranger often serves as a blank slate where our expectations, and worries are drawn and projected ; consequently, the vagueness is filled with our own narratives. We can think of them as good people who just want to seek connection or as sinister characters crafting something malicious in the dark.
